Copp’s Buildall Steps Up with Cole Powell Racing

Cole Powell and Ed Hakonson Racing (EHR) have been off to a very competitive start in the 2018 NASCAR Pinty’s Series season. However, even as the team has enjoyed success on the track, when driver Cole Powell looked across his hood at recent races it was a blank hood that was looking back at him. An empty hood without a sponsor can put a season at risk, even for successful team. It is with this in mind that Cole Powell Racing and EHR are excited to announce that Copp’s Buildall of London will join the team at every event for the remainder of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series schedule in 2018.

“This is a really big deal for our team,” said Powell. “I didn’t think I was going to be able to finish the entire season without a sponsor. The rest of the season wouldn’t be possible without the support of Copp’s Buildall as well as other partners that are coming aboard soon.”

Copp’s Buildall has been a long-time supporter of Powell Racing starting as far back as 2007 when Cole began competing in mini trucks at Grand Bend Speedway. When Cole moved to full-size competition in 2008 at Delaware Speedway, Copp’s Buildall continued their support. Copp’s Buildall also supported Cole when he competed in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Series where he earned rookie of the year honours in 2013.

Copp’s Buildall is a family owned business that has been prominent in the London, Ontario building industry since 1877. For projects around the home, customers can count on Copp’s friendly and knowledgeable team to help create and plan a project from start to finish. Contractors are able to count on the convenience of simply ordering what they need and letting the professional team at Copp’s Buildall pick it out and deliver it to the job site.

Steve and his wife Anne [of Copp’s Buildall] have done a lot for me over the years,” Powell added. “They’ve been on my stuff since way back in the beginning back when I was ten or eleven years old. It’s great to be able to have Copp’s Buildall with us now at the NASCAR Pinty’s Series level”.

Cole is also following Steve and Ann’s son Mac Copp with his professional rowing career. Mac is currently training in Italy and will competing in the 2018 World Rowing Cup III on July 14-15 just about the same time Cole will be racing the Honda Indy in Toronto. As well, at nearly the same time, team-owner Ed Hakonson’s son in-law, Jason Hathaway, will take to the track at Riverside Speedway in Nova Scotia. With Cole’s father, Todd, alongside him at the Honda Indy, all three of these fathers will be rooting for wins across the board! Cole will keep us posted on Mac and Jason’s finishes next weekend.

Copp’s Buildall’s support of Cole Powell Racing will be on full display beginning at the upcoming Saturday, July 14 Honda Indy Toronto event for the NASCAR Pinty’s Series when the team debuts a new paint job for the event. The team sits second in points heading into the road-racing event, just seven points behind the leader.
